Donna Ching fang Kao, Giving Back to the Community

If one were to look at Donna Kao, a real estate professional currently living and working in Southern California, it would be hard to discern what her background is. Many would believe that she has always been involved in the real estate industry of Southern California because of the massive success she has already found in her career. However, this could not be farther from the truth. In fact, her career began far from both California and the real estate industry. She was actually born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan by her mother and father, a registered nurse and a medial physician, respectively. This upbringing motivated her to begin her career, not in real estate as many would imaging, but in medicine. She always harbored a deeply rooted desire to help people, and that is why she was drawn to the medical community in the first place.

For Donna Kao, building bridged between cultures, something that she is well known for in California, was not something that she felt defined here career at this point. Due to the motivations of her family, while living in Taiwan she accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Public Health and Nursing in Taipei, where she received her Bachelors of Science in nursing. She next went on to work in a hospital as a registered nurse. However, it was this experience that led to a serendipitous moment in her career. She met and developed close relationships with two real estate developers who were in the middle of building multiple hospitals, clinics, physical therapy centers, and other medical facilities. This sparked her desire to help people and she realized that she might be able to help many more people if she made a career shift. She decided to stop practicing nursing and instead pursued her real estate license, first in Taipei, but then later again in California after she relocated to the United States.

Having come from Taiwan fairly recently, Donna Kao was familiar with the challenges that members of the Asian community faced as immigrants. She also realized that many of them were not getting access to adequate health care, despite being entitled to it. Because of this, she first founded a free clinic for the Chinese community of Southern California. Next, she founded a specifically Asian marketing and consulting office in the Monterey Park Hospital so that the larger Asian community would be aware of the resources that were available to them.

The success of Donna Ching Fang Kao, video DailyMotion, has come from her desire to help people, no matter what industry she was in. For more information, visit her social media outlets.
